Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and endangering women's health. According to the GLOBOCAN2008estimates, breast cancer accounted for23%of the total number of cancer cases and14%of the total number of cancer deaths, which has become a heavy burden of the country and family. With China's rapid economic development, population aging and population growing, China's incidence of breast cancer showed an increasing trend. It is important for early diagnosis to aid in fast and effective treatment. Therefore, the study of breast early diagnosis which is high-resolution and high sensitivity becomes a research hotspot. In this paper, early diagnosis of breast cancer is taken as research object. Based on metamaterial which is wonderful physical characteristic and ultrasound diagnostic technique, this paper presents a layer of the metamaterial attaching to ultrasound technology for early diagnosis of breast cancer. Through the analysis of the proposed method and the traditional of two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic techniques, we prove that improve diagnostic sensitivity by metamaterial attaching to the ultrasound diagnostic techniques. Moreover, we discuss the distribution and the thickness of the metamaterial how to influence the sensitivity of ultrasound diagnosis. The last but not least, we analyze the error, which is biological tissue of density and speed of sound, how to impact on the sensitivity of ultrasound diagnosis. The main contents and conclusions obtained are as follows:In the fist part, this paper briefly introduces the basis of physical quantities of the ultrasound diagnosis. In addition, the wonderful physicals of metamaterial arediscussed. In the second part, the pressure which is a layer of metamaterial attaching to the two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic techniques is investigated. Results show that the proposed method can improve the sensitivity of the ultrasound diagnosis. To the best understand, the difference of the size of tumor, the location of tumor and whether there is tumor is analyzed. Results prove that the proposed method can enhance the sensitivity of the ultrasound diagnosis. Moreover, the model with different metamaterial thickness is simulated. Results show that the sensitivity will be further improved by increasing the thickness of the metamaterial layer. Finally, the difference of the distribution of metamaterial layer is investigated. In the third part, the sound pressure which is a layer of metamaterial attaching to the three-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic techniques is investigated. The difference of the size of tumor, the thickness of the layer metamaterial and whether there is tumor is simulated. Compared to the traditional method, the proposed method can enhance the sensitivity of ultrasound diagnosis.
