Objective:to observe the occurrence, clinical characteristics and quality of life in postoperative pituitary adenoma patients with Adult growth hormone deficiency as well as the factors relating to the onset of Adult growth hormone deficiency. Methods:a total of39postoperative pituitary adenoma patients were enrolled and mesured in body composition such as height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, body fat percentage and blood pressure, as well as other pituitartary hormone and blood lipid. The insulin tolerant test(ITT) which determines GH, insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and IGF binding protein-3(IGFBP-3) was processed. Meanwhile, QoL-AGDHA form and VAS form were used to assese the quality of life.Results:29of patients (76.3%) with daignosis of AGHD were detected, of which28patients were with a severe growth hormone deficiency. In AGHD group, there are11males (37.9%) and18females (62.1%),15of prolactin adenoma (68.1%) and12of non-functioning adenoma (75.0%).The value of GH peak, IGF-1and IGFBP-3was0.79±1.01ng/ml,249.93±254.18ng/ml and5204.58±1728.85ug/ml in AGHD group. Both of IGF-1and IGFBP-3had respectively significant correlation with GH, but IGF-1 holds higher sensitivity.13of overweight(44.8%)and3of obesity(10.3%) were found in AGHD group. There were7of TSH deficiency (24.1%),8of ACTH deficiency (24.1%) and5of both TSH and ACTH deficiency in AGHD group. Between AGHD group and non-AGHD group,BMI and WHR as well as the Sexual desire and headache in VAS form were significant different (p<0.05), while no significant difference was found in the blood lipid, blood pressure and QoL-AGDHA score (p>0.05). Invassive tumor and non-invassive tumor were found significant difference on GH value in AGHD group (p<0.05). QoL-AGDHA score had a significant correlation with age. Conclusion:Adult growth hormone deficiency concured with other pituitary hormone dificiency and clinical menifestation was discover in a great part of postoperative pituitary adenoma patients, which lead a significant impact on quality of life.Routine determining of GH after surgery of pituitary adenoma will bring a conductive benefit on quality of life and secondary treatment.
