Objective:To study the expression of CDX2 in gastric cancer cell and tissue, and to discuss the clinical meaning.Methods:62 patients with gastric neoplasm,62 specimens obtained from normal gastric tissue and 62 obtained from adjacent tissues of tumors served as the controls. Expression of CDX2 was detected by RT-PCR and Western-blot. The relationship between the gene expression and histology type, TNM stage, depth of infiltration, and lymph node metastasis was analyzed. Results:In the cancer tissue,61.3% of the adjacent tissues of tumors and 38.7% of the gastric cancer tissues expressed CDX2,while not expressed in normal gastric tissue. The difference between the groups was significant(p<0.05). In the cancer tissue, the expression of CDX2 was closely related to TNM stage, depth of invasion, cell differentiation and lymph node metastasis(x2=7.4360~12.3756, p<0.05).The expression value had no statistical significance in age, gender and anatomic location (p>0.05).Conclusion:CDX2 was closely related with gastric cancer. To detect the expression of CDX2 and to discuss the clinical meaning were important in gastric cancer.
