Objective:To research the relation between single nucleotide polymorphisms of the TNRC9/LOC643714 rs8051542C/T, rs12443621A/G and liability and clinico-pathological characteristics of breast cancer in Chinese women. Methods:A hospital- based case- control investigation was conducted in Qingdao. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood. The Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms of the TNRC9/LOC643714 rs8051542C/T, rs12443621A/G, from breast cancer of 321 cases and 340 controls, were evaluated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and gel electrophoresis. The chi-square criterion and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were conducted to evaluate the interaction between the genes and the relative risk factors and clinico-pathological characteristics of breast cancer in Chinese women. Results:There are no significant evidences show that any genotypes of rs8051542C/T, rs12443621 can increase of risk for breast cancer(X2=1.47, P>0.05; X2=1.43,P>0.05), and that the genotypes concerned with pathological category, ER status or PR status or Her-2 status or lymph node metastases (X2=5.27, P>0.05; X2=1.51, P>0.05; X2=0.67, P>0.05; X2=0.75, P>0.05; X2=0.81, P>0.05; X2=2.90,P>0.05; X2=2.25,P>0.05; X2=1.671,P> 0.05; X2=1.34,P>0.05; X2=3.24, P>0.05). Conclusion:None of these genotypes of rs8051542C/T and rs12443621 are associated with individual susceptibility or clinic pathological characteristics of breast cancer in our investigation.
