Objective:To study expressions of P21and P27 proteins in hypopharyngeal carcinomaMethods:Expressions of P21and P27 proteins were detected by immunohistochemistry 2 steps method in 26 cases of hypopharyngeal carcinoma, and compared lymph nodesResults:1. In hypopharyngeal carcinoma and positive lymph nodes metastasis carcinoma, the positive rates of expressions of P21 protein were 34.62% and 53.33% respectively (P>0.05). The positive rates of expressions of P27 protein were 73.08% and 66.67%, respectively (P<0.05)2. Expression of P21 protein was associated with histological differentiation, lymph node metastasis, gender (P<0.05), but not associated with clinical stages, age (P>0.05).3. Expression of P27 protein was associated with age, histological best differentiation and the worst differentiation (P<0.05), but not associated clinical stages, histological best differentiation and common differentiation, common differentiation and worst differentiation, lymph node metastasis, gender (P>0.05).4. Expression of P21 protein was associated with expression of P27 protein in. hypopharyngeal carcinoma (P<0.05).5 Expression of P21 protein was associated with expression of P27 protein in positive lymph nodes metastasis carcinoma (P<0.05). :Conclusion:Expression of P21 protein is different from expression of P27 protein in hypopharyngeal carcinoma and positive lymph nodes metastasis carcinoma because the function of P21and P27 proteins are different.
