ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical characteristics of gallstone complicated with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase.MethodsWe retrospectively analyzed 228 inpatients with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase diagnosed by Suzhou Municipal Hospital from March,2004 to March ,2010. We noted the clinical data about gender, age, Child-Pugh class, etiology of cirrhosis, the splenectomy was performed or not, thrombocytopenia exists or not, et al.we discussed their clinical characteristics by comparing the incidence of gallstone.ResultsThere were 102 patients complicated with gallstone of the 228 ones, and the incidence rate was 44.74%.The morbidity rate of hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase associated with gallstone did not differ between the males and the females(P>0.05).The elder(≥60) with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase is more likely to have gallstone than the younger(<60) (P<0.01). With the liver function worsen, the morbidity rate of hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase associated with gallstone is higher(all P<0.05).There is no statistical significance in the morbidity of gallstone in the three groups(all P>0.05), whose cirrhosis is caused by schistosomiasi, alcohol, or hepatits B virus(HBV), but the morbidity of gallstone complicated with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase caused by hepatits C virus(HCV)is higher than the three(all P<0.01).The patients with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase without splenectomy is less likely to have gallstone than the others with splenectomy(P<0.01). The patients with thrombocytopenia is more likely to have gallstone than the others without thrombocytopenia(P<0.01).ConclusionGallstone frequently occurs in patients with liver cirrhosis in uncompensated phase, which correlates with Child-Pugh class, HCV infection and hypersplenism, but has no correlation with gender, schistosomiasi infection, alcohol intakes, HBV infection, splenectomy maybe can decrease the occurrence of the gallstone complicated with hepatic cirrhosis in uncompensated phase.
