Objective: Investigating the disease constitution of non-viral hepatitis﹑occurring circumstances and the character of epidemiology, so as to play a role in clinical treatment of non-viral hepatitis as a reference, and provide bases for finding effective treatment measures of such kind of disease. Methods: This paper adopted investigative methods of clinical epidemiology, reviewed and analysed 901 clinical non-viral hepatitis cases of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from Jan.2002 to Dec.2010.Results:1. Among 901 hepatitis inpatients, there were 369 cases of drug-induced hepatitis, which occupied top place by accounting for 41% of total cases; Sorted the others in descending order, there were 225 patients with alcoholic hepatitis (25%), 130 patients with non-alcoholic hepatitis (14%), 98 patients with toxic hepatitis (11%), 79 cases of autoimmune liver disease (9%), which consisted of 61 cases of autoimmune hepatitis and 17 cases of primary biliary cirrhosis and 1 case of primary sclerosing cholangitis.2. The female-to-male ratio of alcoholic hepatitis inpatients was 223:2, which was worth noting that the inpatients were almost males, and the female-to-male ratio of autoimmune liver disease inpatients(including AIH,PBC,PSC)was 26:53, females were twice more than males. Alcoholic hepatitis﹑drug-induced hepatitis and non-alcoholic hepatitis, which occurs highly among 46~55 years old, was 41%﹑24%﹑27% respectively.3. The amounts of inpatients with drug-induced hepatitis which increased sharply during 2004~2007 and descended slightly later. The ratio of alcoholic hepatitis inpatients showed a trend of escalation in overall, especially there were two booms in 2006 and 2010. The amounts of non-alcoholic and autoimmune hepatitis inpatients continued to show an upward tendency. There were few toxic hepatitis inpatients in the last several years, but boomed obviously in 2008.4. The average amount of non-alcoholic hepatitis and autoimmune hepatitis inpatients between 2006~2010 was far more than that of between 2002~2005. (P<0.01)5. Among the drug-induced hepatitis in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, 46 cases (26%) were induced by antithyroid drug, the other inducements in sequence were anti-neoplastic drug and Chinese medicine, which caused 36 cases (21%) and 28 cases (17%) respectively. In addition, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug﹑hormone medicines﹑antibiotics﹑immunosuppressants﹑antituberculous drugs were also the common reasons which induced hepatic lesion.Conclusion:1. Among non-viral hepatitis inpatients of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, drug-induced hepatitis occupies top place, and then alcoholic hepatitis﹑non-alcoholic hepatitis﹑toxic hepatitis and autoimmune liver disease in sequence from Jan.2002 to Dec.2010.2. Alcoholic hepatitis inpatients are almost among 46~55 years old, and most inpatients are males. On the contrary, females are susceptible to autoimmune liver disease. The inpatients of NASH reaches the peak among 46~55 years old and people over 65 years old.
