Objective: To investigate the Epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori Infection and associated factors among workers in Dalian port group, provide reliable information and scientific evidence for the natural population and control of helicobacter pylori infection in Dalian.Method: The samples in this study are healthy people in medical center of Dalian Port Hospital from March 2010 ~ October 2010. a total of 3995 people, of whom 3176 were males, 819 females. all of them are workers, crew, drivers, clerical staff, medical staff etc, which come from more than 30 units, covering all industries and sectors in Dalian port group. Subjects were interviewed by trained field technicians, using a national unification questionnaire for H.pylori infection. Every respondents signed the informed consent before questionnaire investigation. Survey respondents were content to whichever the case within the past one year, including four parts: personal circumstances, life eating habits, social health economics, health status. Meanwhile, the survey questionnaire fasting venous blood, serum separated by centrifugation, specifically responsible for testing. Using Helicobacter pylori urea enzyme antibody detection kit and the detecting H. pylori urea enzyme antibodies are positive or not. The data were recorded and analyzed by using EXCEL by double-input. SPSS version 17.0 was used for all statistical analyses. Multivariate analyses were restricted to those subjects with all relevant data available. Differences in proportions were tested using theχ2test; test for trend and logistic regression analysis. Only variables with p-value<0.05 were considered significantly associated with H.pylori infection.Results:1. The prevalence of H. pylori in the samples in this study is 44.88%, which was lower than the average prevalence of H. pylori in china.2. Closely related to H.pylori infection and dietary factors, H.pylori infection rates were high in the population, which often eating raw vegetables, pickled, smoked food, drinking untreated water, eating spicy food, irregular meals, often eating out, suggesting these were infection Risk factors.3. Drinking tea, eating soy products, the large area of housing, high education level were the protective factors to the infection of H.pylori.4. H.pylori infection and gastrointestinal symptoms were closely related.Conclusion: The prevalence of H. pylori in Dalian was lower than the average prevalence of H. pylori in china. H.pylori infection and dietary habits, gastrointestinal symptoms are closely related. So, we should take more attention to healthy eating habits to reduce the H.pylori infection.
