Objective To investigate the changes of adiponectin (APN), high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in the essential hypertensive patients with gout, and to explore the relationship between them and the clinical significance。Methods The study enrolled 120 patients who visited the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College. These patients were divided into three groups:The hypertension with gout group included 60 cases(Age of 63.5±6.3 years, 36 males and 24 females).Hypertension group included 30 cases(Age of 62.5±5.5 years, 16 males and 14 females). Gout group included 30 cases(Age of 62.5±6.3 years, 18 males and 12 females). 30 cases of healthy individuals (Age of 62.5±6.1 years, 15 males and 15 females)served as control group from the healthy center. All the blood samples of the subjects were taken from median antebrachial vein on the morning 7:00 the second day(and after there monthes treatment) when they entered the hospital and all them were fasted. The serum adiponectin was evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), plasma level of hs-CRP assessed with immunoturbidimetry. At the same time,BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, WHR, SBP, DBP, FPG. TC, TG, HDL, LDL, UA were debermined in all subjects. Results 1)There were no differences among the EH group, the gout group, the EH with gout group and the normal control group in FPG, WHR, BMI, TC, TG, HDL, LDL (P>0.05); 2)The serum adiponectin in patients of the essential hypertension with gout was significantly lower than the control group, the level of hs-CRP was higher than the control groups(P<0.05).3)Negative correlations were found between adiponectin and hs-CRP in the essential hypertension patients with gout. 4)After 3 months of drug therapy(the EH group were given Irbesartan tablets and the Amlodipine besylate tablets, the gout group were given the Benzbromarone tablets, the EH with gout group were given Irbesartan tablets+Amlodipine besylate tablets + Benzbromarone tablets, and the normol control group were given the placebo),detected the level of the serum APN and the hs-CRP again(the methods as before) .the serum APN of the essential hypertensive patients with gout group, the essential hypertension group and the gout group increased, the serum hs-CRP decreased(P<0.05), but no significant change in the control group(P>0.05).CONCLUSION 1)The level of the adiponectin was lower and the hs-CRP was higher in the essential hypertension patients with gout. 2)With lower ANP levels, the hs-CRP levels tended to increase, suggesting that the level of serum hs-CRP combine with development of the disease of the EH patients with gout, there may be significant inflammation in the vascular of the patients.3)The Irbesartan tablets and the Benzbromarone tablets play a certain role in elevating the levels of serum adiponectin and decreasing the levels of hs-CRP.
