ObjectivesThe study is to analyze the perinatal mortality and delivery data from 2004 to 2009 in Linqing.lt aims to describe the perinatal mortality,the proportion of causes of death, and the trend for the rank of death causes during the five years in Linqing. The study is also to explore diverse biological and social risk factors associated with perinatal mortality, which aims to provide scientific evidence for help inform efficient intervention strategies and improve the perinatal care in the community.MethodsData on perinatal mortality and delivery collected through Maternal and Child Health Information Reporting System of Linqing,perinatal death investigate table and perinatal death registration book. We use the definition of perinatal period 1 in this study. The study population consisted of all the mothers who delivered in the maternal hospitals during 2004 to 2009 in Linqing and their infants. All the perinatal deaths during the study period in Linqing were included in the project and the related data were collected by questionnaire retrospectively.Diverse statistical methods including paired t test, x2test.ResultThe total eligible infants are 15618,including 216 preinatal deaths.The average perinatal mortality is about 13.83‰. The proportion of deaths in the five years shows decline.The perinatal mortality in 2004 is highest in the five years. The perinatal mortality in city is lower than in village. The most common cause of perinatal death in linqing was birth defect(46.29%), premature delivery and low birth weight(33.79%), placenta factor(4.63%), Induced Labor of birth control (4.17%), umbilical cord factor(3.70%), maternal factor (2.78%),dystocia and asphyxia (1.85%), infant disease (1.39%),others and no reason(1.39%).The rank of the cause of fetal death and still birth in Linqing shows that birth defect(72.2%), Induced Labor of birth control (6.5%), placenta factor(5.7%), umbilical cord factor(4.4%), premature delivery and low birth weight(4.4%), maternal factor (3.6%) others and no reason(2.2%).Tha first cause of fetal death and still birth in Linqing is still birth defect, The rank of the cause of infant death in early period in Linqing shows that premature delivery and low birth weight(84.80%), dystocia and asphyxia (5.0%), placenta factor(2.5%), maternal factor (2.5%), umbilical cord factor(2.5%),infant disease(1.3%) others and no reason(1.3%)。The proportion of deaths had the clos-est relationship with gestational weeks。The proportion of peasant in perinatal death (64.85%) is highest. Cesarean section is protect factor. The male(50.5%) is more than female(49.0%) in perinatal death.ConclusionThe perinatal mortality in Linqing is accord with the third level defined by WHO,and the first level defined by Ministry of Health.The perinatal mortality drop with the progress of quality of obstetrics.The work of perinatal care in Linqing more need to be progressed to cut down the perinatal mortality. Tha first cause of fetal death and still birth in Linqing still is birth defect Obstertrician need pay more attention to umbilical cord factor. I.do well in the system of management for pregnant and lying-in women.2.reduce Birth defects3.strengthen the health education, trumpet maternal and infant health care and abroad maternal care.4.Strengthen cooperation in obstetric and pediatric department, improve the skills of midwifery and resuscitation of newborn.5.constitute the centre of prenatal diagnosis to improve the prenatal diagnosis technique.6.The social risk factors for perinatal mortality need to be paid attention to as well in order to achieve the ultimate objective which is improve the quality of perinatal care and decrease the perinatal mortality.
