Of acupuncture and lay the foundation for the development of health services.Methods In this research, Wuhan Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western medical record room of medical information management system software to extract the acupuncture January 1,2003 December 31 2010 JCP 8 years of 6435 cases of patients discharged from the medical record information and data, will be hospitalized the names of diseases under the "Ministry of Health report on hospital patients Classification of Diseases" ICD-10 classification criteria for disease classification and coding, and using Excel software system disease, age, length of stay, cost and efficacy data collation and analysis, while generate the data results into a database for statistical analysis SPSS 11.Results 6435 cases of acupuncture basic situation of hospitalized patients are summarized as follows:the overall number of patients hospitalized each year upward trend; male patients slightly more than women; average age of 66 years, mostly in elderly patients, the average age of the overall annual rise; average hospital stay 25 days, average hospital days per year declined slightly overall; average hospital cost of 7,130 yuan, an annual average of slightly increased hospitalization costs.Distribution of diseases involving a total of 309 Western diseases. The number of cases among the top 15 ranking in the number of cases of diseases for 78% of the total number of cases, the number of cases in which the top 10 ranking and the percentage of disease were as follows:lumbar (17.74%), cerebral infarction (13.77%) cervical disease (13.66%), cerebral infarction sequela (7.48%), lumbar disc prolapse (4.41%), bone and joint disease (3.40%), cerebral hemorrhage (2.91%), herpes zoster (2.33%), postherpetic neural pain (2.33%), sequelae of cerebral hemorrhage (2.32%). The top three in the lumbar spine, cerebral infarction, cervical spondylosis these 3 diseases total of 2906 cases of the number of cases,45% of the total number of cases. The number of cases each year among the top five of the disease changed little.6435 cases of hospitalized patients 99% of the total effective rate, which the cure rate of 24%; improvement rate was 75%; one of the top 10 ranking cure of diseases (50 cases over the number of cases) and cure rate were:Gouty arthritis (68%), lumbar disc prolapse (43%), postherpetic neuralgia (39%), cervical spondylosis (39%), herpes zoster (39%), facial palsy (34%), lumbar (32%) arthritis (27%), facial paralysis (25%), hypertensionⅢ(24%).Conelusion1, the public acceptance of acupuncture rising;2, the acupuncture treatment of a wide range of diseases, but mainly concentrated in the sports system and cerebral vascular disease, lumbar, cervical disease'and cerebrovascular disease are the most common acupuncture disease; acupuncture vast majority of hospitalized patients with clinical symptoms and pain related;3, acupuncture patients are mainly elderly patients in the clinical work of this year, should strengthen the geriatric training and knowledge of clinical research;4, acupuncture treatment in patients with good overall, but the cure rate is low, need to further improve treatment;5, the future need to expand the scope of investigation of disease spectrum acupuncture to increase the out-patient treatment of diseases investigated acupuncture, acupuncture and thus more accurate understanding of the distribution of the disease spectrum.
