Investigation For The Clinical Disease Spectrum Of Bee Acupuncture And Meta-analysis Based On Literature

Bee Acupuncture(also known as bee sting therapy or bee sting treatment)is a kind of bee therapy(also known as apitherapy),which has been used as a treatment for diseases in Chinese folk society and medicational institutions.A treatment combines the pharmacological action of bee venom wi th acupuncture theory.A procedure is to use a forceps to hold a bee to sting on the patient' s acupuncture points.Or the bee needles and its venom sac are removed from the bee to be used for stinging on the patient's acupuncture point.Today,an injection made of bee venom has been injected directly into the affected area for treatment.for treatment.Nowadays,the treatment of bee sting with bee venom is being widely employed in the world.The research on the pharmacological components of bee venom and the related diseases has gradually drawn attention.This research is to explore the literature about the pathology of the usage of bee sting for editing the clinical disease spectrum of bee acupuncture.Moreover,it uses two diseases as examples(including rheumatoid arthritis and rhinitis)to demonstrate the function of bee acupuncture.It can present the therapeutic value of bee acupuncture in the diease spectrum.Objective:Bee acupuncture is one of alterative treatment for treating diseases,especially for diseases with the specific characteristic(incl.intractable diseases,recurrent attacks and high recurrence rates).Due to bee acupuncture to be used widely,this study explores the literature to find out the treated diseases.Today,there are not many liiteratures to discuss about the clinical diseaase spectrum of bee acupuncture.In this time,we will collect the kind of diseases can he treated by the bee acupuncture.()n the other hand,we use the method of meta-analysis to carry out with different points of view to build-up a spectrum of bee acupuncture for clinical reference in future.Methods:According to the selective strategies of the literature using the keywords(e.g.bee needles and disease spectrum,etc.,),it uses the advanced searching functions(e.g.phase or combined keywords)to search the articles and literatures from the database(incl.China Knowledge Network(CNKI,1979?Wanfang Data Knowledge Service2018),VIP Information Chinese Journal Service Platform(VIP,1989?2018)),Platform(WF,1981?2018),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(SINOMED,1979?2018),EMbase,SCIE and Elsevier).Those selected articles and literatures were published from 1950 to 2018.After the selected documents are downloaded one by one,they will be screened by the quality evaluation step.In the final stage,those literatures are put together to go thru statistical analysis for proceeding to evaluate the part of the data(incl.bee acupuncture treatment and its related data).And then it will be further classified and sorted.It explores the characteristics of bee treatment literature,and disease spectrum,etc.,At the same time,the meta-analysis is employed to analysis the sample diseases(including rhinitis and rheumatoid arthritis)which come from the initial selected literature.The qualified documents are squeezed out relevant data for importing to the spreadsheet(Microsoft(?)Office Profession Plus 2010-Microsoft(?)EXCEL).After that,the target data in the spreadsheet would be put into the analysis software(THE COCHRANE COLLABORATION(?)-Review Manager 5.3(Version:5.3.5)for analyzing.Then the statistical results are analyzed manually and proceed to the consolidation process.It reflects the effectiveness of the bee acupuncture to treat the disease.Results:A total of 9152 articles were selected for the analysis of disease spectrum.At the end of the study,a total of 237 articles were included and classified into the disease spectrum.This study obtained 14 types of disease systems,78 categories of diseases,including 51 categories of western medicine diseases,4 categories of western medical symptoms,and 8 categories of Traditional Chinese Medical diseases.Breakdown is as follows:1.Skeletal system and connective tissue disorders(including rheumatoid arthritis,rheumatoid arthritis,rheumatic bursitis,spondylitis,periarthritis of the shoulder(scapulohumeral periarthritis),disc herniation,cervical spondylosis,humerus External epicondylitis(tennis elbow),rheumatic diseases(rheumatism and cold joint pain),lupus erythematosus(lupus nephritis),ganglion cyst,neck and shoulder syndrome,third lumbar vertebrae transverse process syndrome,sacral styloid tenosynovitis,Differentiation of connective tissue disease,rheumatism,rheumatic polymyalgia,dry syndrome,and sequelae of chronic lumbar muscle strain,lumbar vertebrae hyperplasia,snoring,and low back pain2.Nervous system disorders(including facial paralysis(including refractory peripheral facial paralysis,intractable facial paralysis,facial paralysis sequelae,facial neuritis),cerebrovascular disease(hemiparesis),trigeminal neuralgia,primary sciatica,headache,and dizziness)3.Genitourinary disorders(including breast hyperplasia,prostatitis(chronic pelvic pain),renal failure(chronic renal failure),renal cysts,cystic hyperplasia of the breast,functional dysmenorrhea,pelvic inflammatory disease,enuresis,irregular menstruation,and the card4.Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders(including eczema,acne(acne vulgaris),scleroderma,surface hemangioma,cutaneous fibroids,psoriasis,keloids,and keloids)5.Tumor disorders(including bladder cancer,liver cancer,upper gastrointestinal cancer,breast cancer,and lung cancer)6.Respiratory system(including rhinitis,bronchial asthma,asthma,chronic bronchitis,bronchitis,chronic pharyngitis,and allergic cough)7.Digestive system disorders(including appendicitis,ulcerative colitis,anal fissure,cirrhosis,and diarrhea)8.Infectious and parasitic diseases(including hepatitis,Guillain-Barre syndrome,herpes zoster,and aphthous ulcers)9.Circulatory disorders(including cerebral infarction,hemorrhoids,superficial phlebitis,coronary heart disease,angina pectoris,and thromboangiitis obliterans)10.Endocrine,nutritional and metabolic disorders(including diabetes,Hashimoto' s disease(autoimmune(also known as autoimmune thyroiditis,chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis),and gout)11.Mental and behavioral disorders(including sexual dysfunction(impotence,impotence),:and mental illness)12.Injury,poisoning and external causes(including acute lumbar sprains)13.Exposure to health care services(including hepatitis B virus carriers in the prevention of colds and immune tolerance)14.Eye and appendage disorders(including iridocyclitis)Case Study-Rheumatoid Arthritis:17 of 947 articles are selected as qualified literature to be studies,which include 833 patients in the treatment group and 680 patients in the control group.The patients in the treatment group would be treated by bee acupuncture,bee acupuncture with drugs,or bee acupuncture with other kind of treatment.The patients in the control group would be treated by non-bee acupuncture.Meta-analysis is employed to analysis the total effective rate.The results is RR?1.12,95%CI(1.05,1.19),P<0.001.17 articles reported the total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group.For other outcome indicators(e.g.RF,CRP,ESR,joint swelling,SJC,joint tenderness,joint pain,joint mobility,two-hand grip,15m walking time,morning stiffness time,etc.,)has not been reported in all literature.It made lower comparability in meta-analysis.Only 3 articles express to use the random control trial.Case study-Rhinitis:4 of 60 articles were selected to be studied which include 140 patients in the treatment group and 138 patients in the control group.The patients in the treatment group would be treated by bee acupuncture,bee acupuncture with drugs,or bee acupuncture with other kind of treatment.The patients in the control group would be treated by non-bee acupuncture.Meta-analysis was employed to analysis the total effective rate.The results is RR=1.10,95%CI(1.02,1.19),P=0.01,which indicated that the therapeutic effect of bee needle was significant.4 articles showed to engage randomization.Only three articles named its randomization method.Using the randomization method,it let researchers or readers know their method of adopting patients is not overly artificial.It made the data of the treatment group and the control group are comparable and credible.Conclusion:During the study of the disease spectrum with bee acupuncture as the main treatment,the frequency of disease was found.The bee acupuncture is an excellent treatment for Rheumatoid arthritis,snoring,spondylitis,periarthritis of the shoulder(scapulohumeral periarthritis)and facial paralysis.Lumbar disc herniation,cervical spondylosis,hepatitis,humeral epicondylitis(tennis elbow),rhinitis,cancer,cerebrovascular disease(hemiparesis),diabetes,eczema,enuresis,breast hyperplasia,Trigeminal neuralgia,hemorrhoids(acne vulgaris),keloids,keloids,rheumatic diseases(rheumatic cold joint pain),lupus erythematosus(lupus nephritis),bronchial asthma,asthma,chronic bronchitis,branch expansion,prostatitis Chronic pelvic pain),acute lumbar sprain,appendicitis,cirrhosis,cerebral infarction,sexual dysfunction(impotence,impotence),Hashimoto' s disease(ie autoimmune thyroiditis,etc.),gout,scleroderma,body surface Hemangioma,cutaneous fibroma,psoriasis,Guil lain-Barr6 syndrome,herpes zoster,aphthous ulcer,low back pain,ganglion cyst,neck and shoulder syndrome,third lumbar vertebrae syndrome,sacral stem,etc.,Investigating the diseases(incl.Rheumatoid Arthritis and Rhinitis)from the literature,it has been shown that the bee acupuncture can significantly improve patients' biological clinical indicator and symptom.According to the results of the meta-analysis of two diseases,the clinical efficacy of bee acupuncture for rheumatoid arthritis has been proved.However,the study of bee acupuncture for rhinitis requires more literatures for further exploration.It shows that bee acupuncture can treat many types of common diseases,and difficult and complicated diseases effectively.It implies that it is valuable investigation.The shortage of investigation includes diagnostic criteria,intervention measures,outcome evaluation of each case in the literature to not inconsistent,and not enough document volume.This task is the preliminary of the disease spectrum of the bee acupuncture.About bee-acupuncture spectrum,further studies will need more literature on the use of bee acupuncture for treatment,big data samples and more rigorous research design.
