Objective: To evaluate the clinical application of cryopreservation of all embryos in the cycles of oocyte retrieval. Methods: The clinical data of patients undergoing routine long or short ovarian hyperstimulation protocol of IVF-ET or ICSI from Jan 2009 to Mar 2010 in our reproductive center were retrospectively analyzed. Two parts of clinic data were analyzed: the first part included two groups, and one was the group of cryopreservation of all embryos because of OHSS(n=196) and the other was the control group(n=206). The second part contained 310 oocyte retrieval cycles with serum P≥2.5ng/mL on the date of HCG injection, and was also divided into two groups, the group of cryopreservation of all embryos (n=39) and the control group (n=271).Then the number of retrieval oocytes and embryos and the clinical outcomes were compared between the group of cryopreservation of all embryos and the corresponding control group.Results:1. The clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate of every embryo transfer cycle and the cumulative first clinical pregnancy rate and first live birth rate of every oocyte retrieval cycle of the group of cryopreservation of all embryos(61.2%, 52%,73.64%, 64.63%) of patients with OHSS were significantly higher than the control group(48.8%, 39.6%, 61.96%, 52.59%); and the average of hospitalization days of the OHSS patients of the group of cryopreservation of all embryos in our hospital were significantly lower than the control group.2. To the patients with serum P≥2.5ng/mL on the date of HCG injection, the clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate of every embryo transfer cycle and the cumulative first clinical pregnancy rate and first live birth rate of every oocyte retrieval cycle of the group of cryopreservation of all embryos(44.9%, 41.2%, 52.56%, 48.29%) were significantly higher than the control group(27.9%, 23.1%, 32.21%, 26.65%); and the abortion rate was lower than the control group(4.5% VS 14.3%), but the difference was not significant. Conclusion :The results suggest that the cryopreservation of all embryos could significantly improve the clinical outcomes of patients with OHSS and with serum P≥2.5ng/mL on the date of hCG injection, and have positive clinical application.
