Objective The aim of this study was whether serum lipid level (Total cholesterol,Triglyceride)in acute stage of ischemic stroke is independent factor associated prognosis or not. Methods first: collection cases of ischemic stroke were prospectively registered in the neurology wards of the Affiliated Hospital Of Ningxia Medical University, from January 1, 2007 to June 6, 2010, of which only the patients within 24 hours from ischemic stroke onset were included in the study. Overall collections other data(general circumstance, since go toward a history, clinical characteristic) related outcomes, and fasting samples of serum lipid(Total cholesterol,Triglyceride) estimation were drawn in the next morning of admission ,and carrying on the marks of NIHSS and BI, the outcomes were followed up at the end of 3 month. Second: Totally 529 samples with acute cerebral infarction were divided into four groups according to serum lipid. The first group: the higher serum total cholesterol (TC),the level of it≥6.0mmol/L;The second group: the higher serum triglyceride (TG), the level of it≥2.0mmol/L;The third group: the normal serum lipid; the outcomes were followed up at the end of 3 month, and carrying on the marks of NIHSS and BI, and analyzing it with principle of statistics. Results The total samples of 529 acute cerebral infarction, the higher serum total cholesterol has 94 patients(17.77%),mean is 3.768±0.455mmol/L ; the higher serum triglyceride has 192 patient(s36.30%), mean is 7.710±0.378; the normal serum lipid has 243 patients(45.93%), mean of TG is TC 1.568±0.812mmol/L,mean of TC is 3.971±0.163 mmol/L. The outcomes were followed up at the end of 3 month, losing 18 patients, ratio of losing 3.4%;the higher serum total cholesterol has 94 patients,12 patients had death at the end of 3 month, case fatality rate 12.76%; the higher serum triglyceride has 192 patients, 18 patients had death at the end of 3 month, case fatality rate 9.18%; the normal serum lipid has 243 patients, 10 patients had death at the end of 3 month, case fatality rate 4.11%; case fatality rate of the higher TG group and the normal serum lipid group outcome show ,P<0.0125 ,difference has statistical significance; higher TC group and higher TG group outcome show,P>0.0125,difference has no statistical significance;higher TC group and the normal serum lipid outcome show,P>0.0125,difference has no statistical significance. Conclusion The patients with higher serum triglyceride has higher case fatality rate at the end of third month ,had worse after-effect, serum triglyceride is likely to independent risk factor associated prophase prognosis of ischemic stroke.
