Objective: To compare and analysis IGF-I and PDGF-BB on periodontal tissue remodeling between the tooth movement in rats with periodontitis and healthy. Discussed the role of them in orthodontic tooth movement, made further realization about the variety of orthodontic tooth movement, and provided reference support for clinical orthodontic.Material and methods: Seventy-two Wistar rats were randomly divided into healthy and periodontitis tooth movement groups with 1th, 3th, 7th, 14th, 21th days and control groups. Established periodontitis model on bilateral maxillary first molars with periodontitis groups before experiment. Moved mesially maxillary the first molar, and measured distance of teethmovement, alveolar bone height and density, then detected sections by HE stain and immunohistochemical stain.Results: Distance of tooth movement in the periodontitis groups was farther than healthy groups. Periodontitis groups had lower alveolar bone density than healthy groups, but height of alveolar bone had no differences. HE coloration showed tension side of each group had new bone formation; osteoclasts appeared at compressive side on 3th, 7th, 14th, 21th days groups; compared with healthy groups, periodontitis groups Osteoclast phenomenon was obvious on compressive side, but bone formation delayed on tension side. IGF-I were lower than healthy tooth movement group, the periodontal tissue at the compressive side in 1th, 7th, 14th days groups and at the tension side in 3th, 7th, 14th, 21th days groups showed significantly from control. PDGF-BB were lower than healthy tooth movement group, the periodontal tissue at the compressive side in 1th, 3th, 7th, 21th days groups and at the tension side in 0th, 3th, 7th, 21th days groups showed significantly from control.Conclusion: 50 gram was appropriate for stable periodontical rat maxillary first molar tooth movement. IGF-I, PDGF-BB participated in the orthodontic periodontal tissue remodeling. Since the presence of chronic inflammatory environment, the expression of IGF-I, PDGF-BB levels in periodontitis tooth movement groups decreased significantly.
