Purpose: The clear-down topical ointment(CDTO)was used to assist Chinese medicine in this study, to observe the clinical effect and safety on the herpetic stomatitis in children (HSIC) (the Heart and spleen accumulated heat type), thus to provide more effective treatments.Methods: 60 clinical cases of Herpetic stomatitis in children were randomly divided into two groups to take the clinical observation. The treatment group applied DaoChi Powder combined CDTO, stick 10 hours once, and once per day, while the control group only applied Daochi Powder. The consist of DaoChi Powder were: gypsum, skullcap, licorice, through grass, etc. The medicine composition, addition and subtraction of the DaoChi Powder in treatment group and control group were the same. Four days for one course of treatment, and 1~2 courses were observed.Results:1. The efficiency of the treatment group was 100%, and the total effective rate of control group was 96.67%. The clinical comparison of two groups of patients had significant differences after statistical analysis (P <0.05).2. The course of treatment of the treatment group is shorter than the control group after statistical analysis (P <0.01).3. The reactions on heart, liver, kidney function and other system were not observed in this study.Conclusion: The applied of CDTO had exact effects on HSIC. It shortened course and with no side effects.
