Topical 5-aminolevulinic Acid Photodynamic Therapy For Intra Anal-rectal Warts With Stick Light Source

Background: Condyloma acuminatum(CA)is a common sexually transmitted disease caused by human papilloma virus(HPV),which has been listed as the third largest one in china.Condyloma acuminatum often occurs in a specific anatomical location,including the anus?labium majus?labia minora?vestibule of the vagina etc.,the male foreskin,frenulum,coronary sulcus and other sites.For men who have sex with men,intra anal-rectal area is a particularly vulnerable site of condyloma acuminatum.The mucosal tissue in the intra anal-rectal area provides a suitable environment for proliferating of HPV.The high recurrence rate of this site has been plagued by medical workers.The traditional treatment methods,such as electrocautery,carbon dioxide laser and etc.,are not targeted for the treatment of intra anal-rectal warts,have a high recurrence rateand serious adverse reactions.With the development of photodynamic therapy(PDT),it has been used in the treatment of condyloma acuminatum with lower recurrence rate and fewer adverse reactions.Objective:To investigate the clinical curative effect and record the degree of pain of hydrochloric 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy(ALA-PDT)during the treatment ofintra anal-rectal warts with special and stick light source.Methods:In this study,we analyzed the cure rate of 4 cycles?the recurrence rate after 12 weeks and recorded the degree of pain during the treatment of the patients who have been diagnosed the intra anal-rectal warts in the outpatient department of our hospital.They all used photodynamic therapy with special and stick light source.Results: 46 cases of male patients with condyloma acuminata in intra anal-rectal,warts body of 35 cases completely removed,clearance rate was 76.1% after 4 cycles of ALA-PDT treatment of special and stick light sourceand 5 cases recurrence,the recurrence rate was 14.3% after the follow-up of 12 weeks.The degree of pain visual analogue scale(VAS)was 6.96+1.41 points.Conclusion: ALA-PDT treatment for intra anal-rectal warts get a good curative effect,low recurrence rate,noninvasive treatment,and have less adverse reactions with special and stick light source.
