Objective:This study was to assess the clinical efficacy of adjuvant progesterone in the treatment of endometrial cancer after radical surgery.Method:In this study, meta-analysis was used to collected all the published studies about the adjuvant proesterone treatment of endometrial cancer. We searched the PUBMED, MEDLINE, cochrane library, CNKI, CBMdisc, and reference lists of articles. Manual search to retrieve all the current references and search reports. Endometrial cancer related magazines in the library of Shandong University were searched manually. Languages were restricted to Chinese and English. Studies were slected according to strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data extration and quality assessment was performed indenpently by the author. All the calculation and statistical tested with the Revman 5.0 software. Results:Nine randomized controlled clinical trials including 5766 patients were included in the study. Compared with the patients underwent surgery alone, both results of death risk and relapse risk were similar in the patients underwent surgery plus adjuvant progesterone therapy. The combined OR of all death risk was 0.98,95%confidence interval (0.84-1.14), while the combined OR of relapse risk was 0.74,95%confidence interval (0.51-1.08)Conclusion:Adjuvant progesterone therapy cannot reduce the risk of death and relapse in early endometrial cancer.
