| [Objective]To investigate the recent clinical efficacies of intratympanic dexamethasone injection for the subjective tinnitus.[Methods]43 patients with subjective tinnitus (48 ears) were treated with tympanic injection of dexamethasone infusion .Pure tone audiogram and tinnitus matching were tested before the treatment immediately after the course of treatment , and were tested again after half a year's following up .[Results]All of the cases accepted the whole treatment and were followed up for half a year successfully. The effective rate of the whole group was 65.12% , the control rate half a year after the treatment was 51.16%.[Conclusion](1) We don't recommend that intratympanic dexamethasone injection to be the first treatment for severe, disabling subjective tinnitus or subjective tinnitus refractory to medical treatment over one year. Intratympanic dexamethasone injection may be considered to be an Adjuvant treatment to subjective tinnitus or an alternative treatment when the other ways are shown to be no effective in treating subjective tinnitus.(2) Intratympanic dexamethasone injection has a positive effect on subjective tinnitus except the two situations above. |
