Background: It is known that craniectomy can effectively relieve high intracranial pressure, but skull defects affect functional rehabilitation of the brain, skull appearance, mental health, so as to need the Surgery of repairing of skull defects. for many years in the past , neurosurgeon made a bold attempt to select kinds of materials and methods for repairing of skull defects, They made a Summary of non-human skull material repair materials, tissue engineering materials, autologous bone (autologous skull, ribs, tibia, iliac, etc.), allogeneic bone, etc. In recent years, Great deal of literature show the cranial bone flap and titanium mesh attract the most attention. Domestic scholars pointed out that the best of repair material of artificial skull is titanium mesh, but the titanium mesh has the disadvantages such as costliness, exposured, psychologicalstress and so on,which limit the use of titanium mesh. Autologous skull is the ideal material. There is no any kind of material can completely replace autogenous calvarial. However, because of differences of preservation methods, surgical methods influence postoperative. In view of the advantages and disadvantages of each method, in clinical practice skull defect repair materials and methods has not been fully unified understanding.ObjectiveTo investigate the cryopreservation of povidone-iodine autologous skull bone flap repair in patients with traumatic brain injury.MethodsTake the form of voluntary,we analysis the clinical data of 16 traumatic brain injury patients treats To remove the skull bone flap surgery with povidone-iodine cryopreservation, before which we to be bacterial culture with the bone fluid, then to be 3-6 months later repair of skull defects. Assessment of complications after surgery. ResultsAmong 16 trauma skull defect patients,Only one patient wound infection, last Remove the bone Valve; One case epidural hematoma; One subcutaneous fluid ; the 15 patients were cured without subdural effusion, no secondary bleeding, no intracranial infection, after review of head CT bit good. Follow-up from January to December, all recovered well.ConclusionPovidone-iodine cryopreservation of autologous skull bone flap repair of skull defects replantation is a reliable, secure method.
