Local Recurrence Of Rectal Cancer Related Factors

Objective:(1) Incidence rate of rectal cancer is increasing gradually in our country. To improve treatment effectiveness of rectal cancer, researchers concentrate their energies on discovering the factors of local recurrence of rectal cancer after operation for providing rationale. (2) Mastering the factors of local recurrence of rectal cancer after operation to guide clinical treatment. (3)To approach the indication of low preservation of anal operation.Methods:(1) Clinical date of 321 patients with rectal carcinoma which received radical resection between January 2004 and December 2008 were collected and a retrospective analysis was conducted.321 patients included 41 patients with local recurrence. (2) Clinical data of 41 patients was analyzed with statistical methods. (3) Analyzing Gender, degree of differentiation, degree of encroachment and tumor location with one-factor or multiple-factor.Results:Local recurrence in patients with 26 males and 15 females; highly differentiated in 3 cases, moderately differentiated in 26 cases,12 cases of poorly differentiated; 4 cases of submucosa,23 cases of muscle invasion,14 cases of serous outside; 2 cases in the upper rectum,20 cases in the middle rectum and 19 cases in the lower rectum. Local recurrence of rectal cancer were related to gender (P<0.05), differentiation (P<0.05) and location (P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) Gender, tumor location and degree of differentiation were closely related with rectal cancer recurrence. (2) According to patients'practical condition provide protective step. (3) To avoid local recurrence of rectal cancer after operation, controlling the indication of low preservation of anal operation. (4) Early diagnosis is key point for improving prognosis. Meanwhile early discovery of recurrence and treatment in time is important clinical significance for lengthening patients'life and improving quality of life.
