In this work, a design of isolated retina optical visual simulator was launched, whose function is working with patch clamp system. The feature of this design is that it open the door to apply considerable accurate optical visual stimuli to isolated retina, while it doesn't induct any other disturbance to the electrophysiology experiments.To make the stimulator get along well with the microscope that is a important sub-system of the patch clamp platform, we take special considers in the optical design process. These efforts results in extending of the standard patch clamp system used in retina involved neuroscience researches.In terms of optical design, the function of the stimulator is to relay a various programmable visual stimuli pattern on the isolated experimental animals'retinas via the microscope intrinsic optical path trains. We analyzed the principal of infinity microscope system, extracted the system technology requirements, then give the plans of every subsystem, which includes illumination subsystem, display subsystem, as well as the couple system between stimulator and microscope imagining units. The couple lens system is our focal point. |
