OBJECTIVE:Compare the retaining force of the new-style inlay with 3 kinds of bolts and the traditional inlay in vitro, in order to evaluate whether the bolts have improvement on retaining force.METHODS:20 freshly extracted third molars were divided into 4 groups. Occlusive inlay preparations were made on these molars conventionally, and the inlays were cast normally. Inlays of the control group were cemented commonly, and the others were cemented with bolts and cement. Then the teeth were put in the 37℃artificial saliva states for 24 hours. The residual dental tissue was cut, and the displacing force was tested by the electronic multifunctional testing machine respectively. Finally, statistical analysis was carried out.RESULTS:The retaining force of the 4 groups were (89.49±1.99) N, (68.98±6.58) N, (70.39±6.03) N, (69.51±5.06) N, respectively. The new-style inlay with bolts of glass ionomer silver reinforced cementum(GISC) and the control group had the significant differences(P<0.05). The bolts of the silver amalgam(SA) and zinc polycarboxylate cementum(ZPC) hadn't the significant improvement on retaining force(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:The experiment showed that the bolts of glass ionomer silver reinforced cementum (GISC) had the significant influence on retaining force, while the bolts of the silver amalgam(SA) and polycarboxylate cementum(ZPC) had't the significant effect.
