Objective:By observing the elderly systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS) patients, and useing the modern scientific research methods, in order to look for the correlation between the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer and objective indexes(TNF-a,IL-6,CRP,PA,D-D and ApoAI), then explore the law. Finally, make the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer more micro-oriented and more systematic, and search for a new TCM medthod to treat the elderly SIRS.Methods:The 78 elderly SIRS patients who were hospitalized in Geriatrics or other relevant sections of TCM hospital of Jiangsu Province were studied as the observation group. And the observation group was typied by syndrome differentiation of triple energizer.20 elderly non-SIRS patients composed the control group. Both of the two groups were tested TNF-a,IL-6,CRP,PA,D-D and ApoAI content. Then we set up the database and deal with the date with the sofeware of SPSS 16.0.Result:1. The incidence of the elderly SIRS have an affinity with the lung infection (19.23%), the cerebrovascular accident (28.21%) and the cancer (12.82%). A corresponding relationship existed between the disease spectrum of the elderly SIRS and the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer.2. Comparison of TNF-a content:a. The elderly SIRS group was higher than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. Each syndrome types of triple energizer was higher than the control group (p<0.01).c. The middle-jiao syndrome was higher than the upper-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome (p<0.05,p<0.01). There was no difference between the upper-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome (p>0.05). The TNF-a content first increased and then decreased in the order of upper-middle-under jiao syndrome.3. Comparison of IL-6 content:a. The elderly SIRS group was higher than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. Each syndrome types of triple energizer was higher than the control group (p<0.01).c. The middle-jiao syndrome was higher than the upper-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome (p<0.01,p<0.01). The under-jiao syndrome was higher than the upper-jiao syndrome (p<0.01). The IL-6 content first increased and then decreased in the order of upper-middle-under jiao syndrome.4. Comparison of CRP content: a. The elderly SIRS group was higher than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. Each syndrome types of triple energizer was higher than the control group (p<0.01,p<0.01,p<0.05).c. The upper-jiao syndrome was higher than the middle-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome (p<0.05,p<0.01). The middle-jiao syndrome was higher than the under-jiao syndrome (p<0.01). The increase of CRP content decreased gradually from the upper-jiao syndrome to the under-jiao syndrome,5. Comparison of PA content:a. The elderly SIRS group was lower than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. The middle-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome were lower than the control group (p<0.01,p<0.01). There was no difference between the upper-jiao syndrome and the control group (p<0.05).c. The middle-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome were lower than the upper-jiao syndrome (p<0.01,p<0.01). There was no difference between the middle-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome (p<0.05).6. Comparison of D-D content:a. The elderly SIRS group was higher than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. The middle-jiao syndrome and the under-jiao syndrome was higher than the control group (p<0.01,p<0.01). There was no difference between the upper-jiao syndrome and the control group (p<0.05).c. The under-jiao syndrome was higher than the middle-jiao syndrome and the upper-jiao syndrome (p<0.01,p<0.01). The middle-jiao syndrome was higher than the upper-jiao syndrome (p<0.01). The D-D content increased gradually in the order of upper-middle-under jiao syndrome.7. Comparison of ApoAI content:a. The elderly SIRS group was lower than the elderly non-SIRS group (p<0.01).b. Each syndrome types of triple energizer was lower than the control group (p<0.05,p<0.05,p<0.01).c. The under-jiao syndrome was lower than the upper-jiao syndrome and the middle-jiao syndrome (p<0.05,p<0.05). There was no difference between the upper-jiao syndrome and the middle-jiao syndrome (p>0.05). The ApoAI content decreased gradually in the order of upper-middle-under jiao syndrome.Conclusions:1. The incidence of the elderly SIRS has an affinity with the lung infection, cerebrovascular accident and cancer. A corresponding relationship existed between the disease spectrum of the elderly SIRS and the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer. 2. The TNF-a,IL-6,CRP and D-D content increased significantly in the elderly SIRS patients, while the ApoAI and PA content decreased significantly. These objective indicators can be used to judge the condition and prognosis. The result was as same as before.3. When the elderly SIRS occured, a. the largest increase in the amount of CRP content was in the upper-jiao syndrome; b. the largest increase in the amount of TNF-a and IL-6 content was in the middle-jiao syndrome, and the PA,D-D and ApoAI content began to change; c. the largest increase in the amount of D-D content and the largest decrease in the amount of PA and ApoAI content was in the under-jiao syndrome. These objective indicators can be used to judge the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer.4. The order of triple energizer (upper- middle- under jiao syndrome) and the change of objective indicators were consistent, when the elderly SIRS occured. The syndrome differentiation of triple energizer can be used to judge the condition and prognosis.
