Objective: To study the homemade TCM rats of allogeneic transplant immunosuppression rib cartilage role. Methods: Choose 3 Wistar rats randomly only as donor, executed and cut take their costal cartilages, made from 0.5 x 0.5 cm cartilage block in 60 blocks, randomly divided into fresh controls group, 0.4% glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde solution group and homemade TCM group, Fresh group was preservde in 4℃refrigerator after rinsing by the 0.9% NS containing 4% gentamycin, The last two groups took out and spared after soaking by 48h. Transplanted each group 1 piece cartilage respectively in the back subcutaneous of the 20 rats. The 20 rats bred under the same condition and after 12 weeks took out all the cartilages. Then observe the survival situation of the transplanted cartilage using improved wakitani score for histologic grading, for the purpose of evaluate the immune inhibition differences between three treatments on rats costal cartilages allogeneic transplant evaluation .Results: The wakitani scores of 0.4% formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde solution group and TCM group are lower than the fresh controls group (P < 0.01), but the wakitani scores between 0.4% formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde solution group and TCM group are no difference (P > 0.05).Conclusion: The differences of histologic changes between soaking in the homemade TCM and traditional cartilage save fluid are not obvious. So we think the homemade TCM liquid has obvious immunosuppressive role and is a kind of good cartilage save fluid.
