Objective:Because articular disc of temporomandibular joint morphology chan ges and temporomandibular joint disease closely related to the temporomandibular j oint articular disc in magnetic resonance imaging signal characteristics of the seque nce is not typical, the study of temporomandibular joint morphology, location and with the surrounding tissue relations in the clinical diagnosis played a very importa nt role. This paper summarizes the magnetic resonance imaging of temporomandibu lar joint characteristics, etiology, classification and common imaging methods to inve stigate the pain and magnetic resonance imaging method meniscus shape, position, movement, etc. condyle relationship. Methods:1.5T MRI scanner, dual gradient of 23 cases with clinical symptoms of pain and 23 asymptomatic patients underwent MRI of temporomandibular joint. Results:The articular disc was found morphogen etic changes, the most common stretch for the disc longer, there are even late wit h a significantly thickened and swollen; observed disc displacement, the main forw ard for the Irreducible bit, and accompanied by significant changes in the articular disc morphology. After statistical analysis, confirmed that disc deformation and join t pain, displacement, and condylar movement correlated with the morphology signal pterygoid muscle, joint effusion is not relevant.Asymptomatic population displacem ent in the deformation of articular disc of temporomandibular joint may be as a p otential disease risk factors.Disc displacement and deformation is an important disea se of temporomandibular joint pathology. Conclusion:The temporomandibular joint articular disc of temporomandibular joint function in activities play an important r ole. Articular disc of temporomandibular joint disease characteristics and the form of the relationship with the surrounding tissue, is the imaging diagnosis of the mai n elements.Magnetic resonance is observed in the gold standard for joint disc morp hology, can be clearly displayed around the temporomandibular joint system and its organizational structure, in particular, is able to clearly show the shape and locati on of articular disk, temporomandibular joint disease on the clinical diagnosis and t reatment have a very important clinical value.
