ObjectiveTo investigate expressions and significances of SEMA5A and MMP-9 in non-small cell lung cancer and the relationship among them. then to evalue the roles of them in the development of non-small cell lung cancer.MethodsThe expressions of SEMA5A and MMP-9 were both detected with two-step method of immunohistochemistry in 48 cases of non-small cell lung cancer tissues and in 19 cases of normal lung tissues. All tissues were clarified into 3 teams to determine the ralationship of SEMA5A and MMP-9 in non-small cell lung cancer. And analyze tha siginificance combined with patholohy data.Results1. In the 48 specimens of non-small cell lung cancer, the positive expression rate of SEMA5A and MMP-9 were 72.92% and 75.0% respectively, which were much higher than the control group(21.05% and 21.05% for SEMA5A and MMP-9 expression respectively). There was a statistical significance between the two group (p<0.05).2.The espression of SEMA5A was significantly correlation with the T stage(p<0.05), differentitation degree(p<0.05) and lymph nodes matastasis(p<0.05). The espression of MMP-9 was significantly correlation with the T stage(p<0.05), differentitation degree(p<0.05), clinical stage(p<0.05), histologic type(p<0.05) and lymph nodes matastasis(p<0.05).3.The expression of SEMA5A was correlated positively with that of MMP-9(r=0.769, P<0.01).Conclusion1.SEMA5A was overexpressed of in non-small cell cancer, its expression was correlated positively with the MMP-9, these two proteins were correlated with the development and progression of non-small cell lung cancer.2.SEMA5A in non-small cell lung cancer's expression closely related to lymph node matastasis and lung cancer different differentitation degree implys it may able to used as a new target to assess the serious degree of the non-small cell lung cancer.
