Objective To study the relationship between computerized tomography (CT) and the expression of Annexin A7 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). And investigate the molecular pathological base of imageology of NPC. Methods: 58 case of NPC pathological diagnositic specimens, without radiotherapy and chems. And all patients of NPC were performed axial CT scan and some of case were proformed coronal and enhancement CT scaning. 58 cases of NPC, 20 cases of lymph node metastsic NPC (LMNPC) and 24 cases of chronic rhinitis (CR) were performed immunochemistry to detect the expression of Annexin A7. The relationship between the expression of Annexin A7 and clinic pathological factors of NPC were analysis by SPSS software. The correlation betweent CT and the expression of Annexin A7 were analysis.Results: (1) The positive ratio of Annexin A7 is 87.9%(51/58), 95.0%(19/20) and 41.7%(10/24), in NPC, LMNPC and CR, respectively. The expression of Annexin A7 were higher in LMNPC than NPC, in NPC than CR (p<0.05).(2) There were coorelation among the expression of Annexin A7 and histotype, primary tumor, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and clinic stage (p<0.05), and without correlation to age and gender.(3) There were correlation among the expression of Annexin A7 and invading of posterior nares, pharynx oralis and bone destruction of base of skull, cervical lymph nody metastasis showed in CT(p<0.05).Conclusion: (1) The expression of annexin a7 was higher in NPC than chronic rhinitis, And suggested that there were relationship between the expression of annexin a7 and development and progress of NPC.(2) The higher level of annexin a7 related to more lower differentiation degree and more later clinic TNM stage. And annexin a7 could serves as a biomarker of differentiation and metastasis of NPC. (3) CT showed invaded growth and bone destruction of base of skull in NPC, and the expression of annexin a7 was significantly upregulaittion. Those showed upregulation of annexin a7 was one of molecular pathological basement in CT imageology of NPC.
