This article takes the woody ornamental species Rosa hybrida L. as the research object, focusing on miniature pot rose. The effects of the internal and external factors of influencing miniature pot rose cuttings, circular liquid flow cutting propagation system were studied, and miniature pot rose was studied which planted in controlled environment chambers developed by ourselves. The detailed results are as following:1. Effects of the cutting period, the auxin types and concentrations and rooting media on root formation of miniature pot rose miniplant cuttingsThree cultivars of miniature pot rose were taken as the plant material. Effects of the different cutting period, the auxin types and concentrations, and rooting media on root formation of miniature pot rose cuttings were studied. The results indicated that, temperature was a primary factor that affected cutting rootage. In June and in September, it was suitable for three cultivars, they rooted quickly, rooting percentage achieved 100%, root number and root length were highest for three cultivars. It was found that auxin(IAA,IBA,NAA) could enhance rooting percentage, root number and root length. IAA, IBA, NAA were able to promote rooting, but it was suitable for rooting of three cultivars when cuttings were treated with 1000mg/L IAA, 500mg/L IBA and IBA/NAA (250/250). Rooting percentage, root number and root length appeared to be improved if cuttings were planted in 2 kinds of medium, chaff ash and chaff ash-pearlite (7: 3), which were compared with other medium. pH of medium affected rootage strongly, pH should be alkalescent.2. Topophysis affects rooting, growth and development in miniature pot roseTopophysis, the effects on rooting, growth and development, was studied with cuttings which were excised from five stem positions along the shoots in three cultivars of miniature pot rose. The results indicated that, topophysis caused different percentage that failed to root and percentage of blind shoots. The smallest percentage (1.0%) that failed to root originated from position 2-3, whereas the highest percentage (6.0%) originated from position 5. The smallest percentage of blind shoots (5.3%) originated from position 3, and the highest percentage (8.8%) from position 4-5. Rooting time and onset of axillary bud were not influenced by position. Time for first flower was generally shorter for about 2 weeks in plants originating from apical bud position than basal bud position. Topophysis influenced plant height, the smallest plant height (9.2cm) originated from apical bud position, and the highest plant height (12.4cm) from position 4, plant height was not different among cultivars. For growth rate, fresh weight and fresh weight efficiency of the cuttings taken from apical or basal position had significantly lower than cuttings from all middle positions. Fresh weight and fresh weight efficiency were different significantly among cultivars, Miniature pink 3 possessed the highest fresh weight, indicating a higher plant quality. It is suggested that topophysis in Rosa is an independent phenomenon intrinsic to the axillary bud.3. The development and application of circular liquid flow cutting propagation systemIn order to enhance the total technical level of expand propagation system, break propagation method of using solid medium cuttings in flowers industry of our country, based on DFT and NFT, circular liquid flow cutting propagation system was developed. and when fluid was flowing and still, liquid oxygen saturation at different depth was determined. Under the fluid flow condition, liquid oxygen saturation was different at different depth, which was increased, it was advantageous for root formation. Liquid temperature were not influenced by liquid flowing or stillness, but liquid temperature were higher than air temperature, it was favorable for root formation. Using this system, root formation of semi-hardwood cuttings from 10 types of plant species and cultivars in Rosa was investigated. The results indicated that, except for Brazil promises, other species and cultivars were suitable for circular liquid flow cutting propagation system. Rooting percentage, root number and root length of 'Yueyuehong', 'Lijiang', 'laevigata Michx', 'Kent', and 'Fire ball' were enhanced in this system. Treatments of cuttings of 'Yueyuehong' ,'Fire ball' and 'Kent' with nutrition solution were found to be superior to water and control, and were different significantly, whereas other species and cultivars were not different. Root diameter in treatment of nutrition solution was increased.4. Influence of planting density and season on growth and development of miniature pot roseTwo cultivars (Miniature pink 1 and Miniature pink 2) of miniature pot rose (Rosa hybrida L.) were used to study the influence of planting densities and season on growth and development. Two cultivars were grown in controlled environment chambers developed by ourselves. 25℃day/21℃night, photoperiod 16h,and 33℃day/26℃night, photoperiod 10h growing conditions were set. Plant had shorter flower shoot, fewer nodes, quicker flowering, smaller flower diameter, smaller flower longevity, lower flower quality, smaller leaf area, and lighter fresh/dry weight when it was grown under the high temperature environment than under the suitable temperature. Under different planting densities conditions, Miniature pink 1 had the longest flower shoot at the second density, and Miniature pink 2 had the longest flower shoot and the largest leaf area at the third density, and at the first density, both two cultivars had the greatest fresh/dry weight.
