Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) as a common cross-pollination of vegetable crops, withsignificant heterosis. Pepper male sterility in research and practice, reducing the hybrid seed,artificial emasculation, the high cost, and improve the purity of the seed, and less falsehybrids, which is of great significance for pepper production and breeding.We have selected and bred several types of CMS lines, as well as their relatedmaintainers and restorers, by the combination of the interspecific crossing and the inducedmutation technique.The relationship of maintaining and restoring among numerous cytoplasmic-genic malesterility (CMS) systems in pepper detected by the Rf-linked molecular marker were analyzedby using six CMS lines, five maintainers and six restorers.1,The results showed that the sterility could be maintained in the mating of201A×200B,203A×200B,206A×200B,200A×201B,206A×201B,200A×202B,200A×203B,200A×206Band201A×206B.2,All six restorers could restore the fertility of200A,202A,203A and204A, except that213C could not restore the fertility of200A and204A. But the six restorers had differentrestoring ability to the one same CMS line.3,The detection of Rf-linked molecular marker showed that the objective PCR productcould be amplified in207C,208C and213C. The DNA marker only existed in F1hybrid M39,M14, M19, M25, M13, M20and M22. All these proved that the restorers208C and207Ccould transmit the Rf gene or Rf-linked marker to the F1hybrid.4,CMS line200A,202A,203A,204A and restorer lines207C,208C,209C,211C,214Chybridize, In view of relationship of maintaining and restoring and the results of theCRF-SCAR molecular marker test results and fruit characters measured on the fertilityrestoration in the F1generation. Molecular marker bands of the CRF-SCAR (Rf) in the testedmaterial separate. And stalk trait of some materials with no target strip is significant differences.The gene of control stalk the length may be a chain relationship of molecularmarkers of the CRF-SCAR (Rf).
