In this study, we use the Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) method toanalyze30species of common pasture and20kinds of dairy feed commonly used on cattle farmof Fujian Province, we mainly focus on the protein component and the carbohydrate component.Then, we set up the nutrient ingredients basic database of cattle's feeds. Besides, we analyzed theeffect of using CNCPS to predict DMI and lactation performance in Fujian scale dairy, evaluatedthe balance of energy and nitrogen on cattle farm. Finally, we proposed some optimized advices ofdaily ration.Experiment1: With the classification methods researched by the Cornell Net Carbohydrateand Protein System (CNCPS),30typical of forage grass were collected from Fujian province toanalyze the chemical composition,such as crude protein (CP),non-protein nitrogen (NPN),soluble protein (SP),acid detergent insoluble protein (ADIP),neutral detergent insoluble protein(NDIP),acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF),acid detergent lignin (ADL)and starch. Then the contents of non-protein nitrogen (PA),rapidly degraded protein (PB1),intermediately degraded protein(PB2),slowly degraded protein (PB3),bound protein (PC),sugar(CA),starch and pectin(CB1),available fiber (CB2),and unavailable fiber(CC) were calculatedrespectively as the provided formula in CNCPS.Experiment2: Collected from seven scale cattle farm in Fujian Province, a total of14dietformulations. Selected20similar body condition of cows in each group of diet formulation. Then,recorded their body condition, environment and management information respectively, anddetermined the dry matter intake (DMI) and production performance respectively. Used themethod of carbohydrates and protein classification of CNCPS, analysed and calculated thenutritional content of feed ingredients used in the conventional diet of the seven scale dairy farmin Fujian Province.Experiment3: Used CNCPS to predict the DMI and production performance of Fujian scaledairy, and to analyse the effect. In addition, through the determination of the milk urea nitrogen(MUN), we can ecaluate the diet formulations another time. The results showed that, the results ofCNCPS on diet formulations are consistent with the results of the evaluation by the MUN values.Used the CNCPS to predict the DMI, milk yield and milk composition of cattle were basically accurate, feasible. And then, we initially proposed14recommendations of optimization dietformulations.
