"Yesanyuan" is a new strong, healthy and high silk yield silkworm variety, bred out by Wu yangchun, who working in the Sericultural Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SRICAAS), through distant and multiple crossbreeding between strong resistance of wild silkworm and high silk yield silkworm variety. In Jiangsu province, the results of laboratory identification and countryside rearing test showed that it have some characters of well diet, strong resistance, high cocoon production, excellent silk quality and high propagation coefficient. It have been authorized by Jiangsu Silkworm Variety Appraising Committee, and considered it fit to rear in the Yangtze river basin in autumn and spring, or annual raise in Northern Sericulture Area.In order to analyze the economic traits and adaptability performance of the new silkworm varieties "Yesanyuan" in Yunnan different geographical areas, three levels have been thought from the silkworm egg producers, sericultural farmers and reeling enterprises, respectively. And the author designed comparative test of the species breeding, laboratory identification comparison test and countryside rearing test at mainly sericultural areas in Yunnan province. In spring 2008 and 2009, the author imported the foundation-cross of silkworm variety "Yesanyuan" from SRICAAS, for comparative test of the species breeding. The silkworm F1 hybrids of laboratory identification comparison tests, countryside rearing test and cocoon reeling trial were carried out in 2009, and the relevant experimental results and economic traits were investigated at the same time. The above survey projects were compared with the Silkworm variety "Jingsong x Haoyue", which is large scale reared now in Yunnan Province. The results were described following.The comparative test results of species breeding showed that the foundation-cross of silkworm variety "Yesanyuan" was easy to rear, had shorter larval period, uniform development, strong and healthy body, high larval life rate, low rate of dead worm in cocoon, strong resistance, fast-well mounting cocoon frame, big shape cocoons, high cocoon shell weight and cocoon shell ratio, high cocoon production, fast spawning, good deposition condition and high propagation coefficient.In laboratory, the breeding results and silk quality showed, compared with the control, the new silkworm variety "Yesanyuan" had shorter larval period, similar physical constitution in spring and early autumn, stronger resistance in summer, less in late fall, and had big shape cocoons and high cocoon production, lower cocoon shell ratio, cocoon filament length and length of non-broken cocoon filament, higher reelability de-flossed renditta, weight of cocoon and size of cocoon filament. Both of two silkworm varieties could be reel raw silk above the level of 5A.In the representative sericultural areas in Yunnan, the experimental results showed, compared with the control, "Yesanyuan" had shorter larval period, stronger resistance and bigger shape cocoons and higher cocoon yield in summer and autumn, slightly poor resistance in spring, and had lower cocoon shell ratio, cocoon filament length and length of non-broken cocoon filament, higher reelability de-flossed renditta, weight of cocoon and size of cocoon filament. Both of two silkworm variety could be reel raw silk above the level of 4A. In summary, the new silkworm variety "Yesanyuan" can meet the request of silkworm egg producers, sericultural farmers and reeling enterprises, it is suitable for large scale rearing in Yunnan Province.
