Research On Landscape Application Of Container Plants

With the increasing urbanization, the land area is gradually decreasing,it is significance that we research on the landscape application of container plant to the construction of ecological garden city.Container plant have have mobility, temporary, flexibility, diversity, extensiveness characteristics.According to the related theories which were researched by domestic and foreign scholars,this paper are classified in accordance with container materials,types and plant characteristics.Putting forward the landscape application principles of container plant,including that plant collocation should be planted at the right time and site,container plant have economic,practical and ornament qualities,have the right plant colour,have local characteristic,should add to landscape the beauty of artistic conception. Analyzing the application forms of container plants,the application forms of container plant and shrub have isolated planting,coupled planting,liner planting and so on,the forms of container flower have container flower have flower bed,flower belt,art planted.This paper summarized the application condition of container plant in residential,city square,road,business area,public recreational greenbelt,courtyard,indoor,concluded the combining ways between container plant and garden elements such as land planted,water,architecture,garden road,garden sketch.Based on the field survey of 70 application areas in Changsha City,this paper summarized the container plant species,application frequency,container materials,the application forms of container plant and landscape configuration at each place,the following conclusion were drawn through the investigation:(1) The container plant species with the highest frequency of application,which are applied each place in Changsha City,are Viola tricolor L., Salvia splendens Ker-Gawler, Brassica Oleracea var. acephala f. tricolor, Petunia hybrida Vilm, potmarigold, Dianthus chinensis, Cycas revolute. therefore,each application areas in Changsha City,the application of herbaceous container plant are much wider than the woody container plant.(2) There are special emphasis in different types of each types areas;according to the different characteristics and function,the choice of container plant types are different. (3) There are mainly flower plants,supplemented by foliage container plant.(4)The most application form of container plant is flower bowls each place in Changsha City,the second is flower box,card basin.The container material are stone,wooden,plastic.(5)The formed landscape style by container plant is modern,leisure,natural outdoor environment in Changsha city,is delicate elegance and implicative indoor place,most form is the combination with foliage plant and ceramic,the landscape style is sedate and ecological.
