Along with the economic development and people's living standards improvement in China, the people's demand for grape is getting more and more. In 2005, the output of grape in China has already ranked 5th in the world, but the whole level of grape production mechanization is still a little lower, especially the overwintering soil-covering operation for grape vine which has maximum amount of work during the grape growing process is basically by manpower, and this resulted in high in labor intensity and low in efficiency, as well as the quality is difficult to guarantee. In view of this existing situation, in this thesis, through the investigation to the grape growing and to the existing utilization situations of overwintering grape vine layer machines at home and abroad, also based on the comprehensive analysis of their merits, a new type of grape vine layer through the independent innovation is developed successfully.This machine rototilling takes soil in front, and then conveys the soil evenly through two stages conveyor belts in the rear to one side of the machine for covering the vines, therefore, the problem for overwintering grape vine layer mechanization is solved. This machine has following characteristics:The rototilling soil taking component designed in this thesis has solved following problems such as the grape vine layer's rip, hacking, soil throwing out as well as a large number of soil to be taken out. During operation, the soil taking width is 110 cm, maximum soil taking depth is 20 cm, and the required amount of soil for overwintering grape vines soil covering in different years can be met.According to the soil situation throw out by the rototilling soil taking component, the soil conveying system designed in this thesis can select unit's left side or right side grape vines for centralized even throwing, reduce soil dispersion and improve the utilization ratio of the soil to cover up the vines.The intermediate transmission reversing gearbox designed in this thesis adopts the positive clutch mechanism to carry on the reversible switch for the rear output shaft's rotation direction, its structure is simple and compact, and works reliably.Field tests showed that the grape vine layer designed in this thesis can adapt to grape vines overwintering soil covering requirements with different row spacing, the machine completed the soil taking out and soil covering during one time operation. The layer designed in this thesis also has following characteristics:a large amount of soil can be taken out, the soil can be covered up evenly, the direction of soil conveying can be selected, and it is efficient in its operation. In short, the whole machine has rational design, and it is of great practical significance and economic efficiency for achieving the grape vines overwintering layer mechanization.
