| Datura stramonium L. (family Solanaceae) is an annual herbaceous medical and poisonous plant and non cultivated plant. Its flowers, leaves and seeds can be used for herbal medicine with the function of smooth wheezing, cough, spasmolysis, analgesic and anesthesia and so on. For put the resources to rational use and exploitation and for compare the content and insecticidal activity of Datura stramonium and it's variant Datura stramonium L. var. tatula Torrey. We have experiment the content of Scopolamine and Atropine in seed, leave, flower, stem, root and peel in both of the Datura stramonium and Datura tatula. Besides, Compared and Ascertained a methond with economies, convenient and environmental protection traits after statistic the coarse extraction yields of methanol, ethanol, boiling water and cold water extraction methods. Based on it, the water extracts of seeds, stems, leaves and peels from Datura stramonium L. and Datura stramonium L. var. tatula Torrey were bioassayed with Myzus persicae Sulzer, Tetranychus viennensis Zacher, and third instar Plutella xylostella and Mythimna separate Walker larvae.The results showed that:1. All the organ both in Datura stramonium and Datura tatula have alkaloids, and the main alkaloid is Atropine.2. The alkaloids content of all organs from high to low in Datura stramonium can be ranged as seed> flower> leave> stems> root> peel. while in Datura tatula can be ranged as seed> flower> leave> root>stems> peel.3. Besides the flower, the alkaloids content of all the other organs in Datura tatula are higher than the Datura stramonium which with higher utilization value.4. The coarse extraction yields of four extraction methods can be ranged as methanol> ethanol>boiling water > cold water extraction methods. Boiling water is the most economies, convenient and environmental protection traits.5. The water extracts of seeds, stems, leaves and peels from Datura stramonium L. and Datura stramonium L. var. tatula Torrey were bioassayed with Myzus persicae and Tetranychus viennensis, the results showed that both of them have insecticidal activity, above them, the seed is the most activity organ. And the insecticidal activity of Datura tatula is higher than Datura stramonium. 6. The water extracts of seeds, stems, leaves and peels from Datura stramonium L. and Datura tatula were bioassayed with Mythimna separatea and Plutella xylostella, the results showed that both of them have development inhibition to Mythimna separatea and Plutella xylostella, scarcely any Contact activity, have no Fumigation activity, assumed low rate of survive, pupation of larvae, and emergence of adults.7. The antifeedant activities of Datura tatula were higher than those of Datur stramonium. As to different donor sites, water extracts of Datur stramonium seeds had the highest insecticidal activities, while in Datur tatula, the most active water extracts were from stems. There will be some of the active substance beside the alkaloid in stems of Datura tatula exclusive against to the P. xylostella which should be developed as a pesticides without poison against to the P. xylostella.8. To combine the insecticidal activities and alkaloids content, a great quantity waste of Datura stramonium and Datura tatula steams resouse should be exploited and used. |
