Oats and alfalfa are major cultivated pastures in Northwest China and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and also important pastoral feed source in hay season. This study used a randomized complete block design, in the April 13th, 2010 in the Northwest A & F University, ecological farms planting pasture, inter-mixed with oats and alfalfa for drilling, using a combination method of field experiment and laboratory analysis, cutting in two on June 28th and July 9th, mixed of different ways, mixture ratio, and mow cutting time on the oats and alfalfa mixed grassland dynamics of plant height, forage yield, stem ratio, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and other indexes. To find a suitable climatic conditions and the same local area the best oats and alfalfa mixture cropping patterns, relations in the region to promote the yield mixed grassland, rich source of livestock forage to provide technical support. The results are as follows:1.Mixed alfalfa plants growing on different degrees of inhibition, but the dynamic changes of the height of the oats had little effect. Fast and oat seedling plant height over time was significantly greater than the alfalfa. Oats early rapid growth, basically completed in mid-June vegetative growth, enter reproductive growth, plant height remained at around 70cm. Starting from the emergence of alfalfa plant height change has been in a slow increasing trend, and unicast alfalfa growth rate was significantly higher than the height of the mixed treatment.2.In this experiment, treatment of the 6 mixture, oats and alfalfa in the cropping patterns of 3:1 between the drill cutting in both the two received the highest yield of fresh hay, fresh forage yield were 1409g/m~2 and 1045g/m~2, Unicast oat than 21% and 12% yield; hay yields were 457g/m~2 and 390 g/m~2, more than 12% unicast oat yield and 5%. Between the drill for sowing method in terms of forage production than the higher mixing drill, oat grass proportion in the mixture is directly related to the size of the level of grass yield.3.Mixture modes has no obvious effect on FW/DW and water ratio of forage. Tow times cutting on monoculture Alfalfa of FW/DW is 3.7/1 and 3.9/1, the water ratio is 73% and 74%, without obviously difference in this way, but when compared with the mixture forage, the difference is distinct. Tow times cutting on mixture forage of FW/DW and the water ratio is steadily floating on the range of 2.7/1 to 3.1/1 and 63% to 68%.4.The best cutting period of mixture meadow is milk stage. In this experiment, the mixture forage cutting on June 28th is a little better than the ones cutting on July 9th on the index of nutrition quality (stalk/leaf, crud protein quantity, and the relative feeding value). Cutting on the milk stage can obtain a higher dry forage yield. Compared with the fresh forage yield on June 28th, except the T8 ( the monoculture Alfalfa) has a little amount of increase, the rest of the fresh forage cutting on July 9th all have the decrease trend in various degree. The margin of the decreased fresh forage yield is direct proportion to the rate of the oat in mixture meadow, and the interlacing drill mode is worse than the mixture drill mode.5. The mixture mode has little influence on the stalk/leaf and the relative feeding value of the mixture forage, compared with the monoculture oat, there is a tiny difference between them(P﹤0.05).The planting mode of stalk/leaf has a few increase, which concludes with the time expand, the relative leaf yield of the mixture forage decreased, and the palatability and the quality is gradually reduced.6. When cutting on June 28th , the interlacing drill planting mode of oat and alfalfa at 3:1 got the highest crud protein yield is 38.44g/m~2, increasing 8.6% in yield than monoculture oat, and 19.94% higher than the rest modes on July 9th. The mixture mode has no direct effect on crud protein of mixture meadow, the difference and the relative change among these modes is mainly because of the rise and fall of forage yield. When planting the mixture meadow of oat and alfalfa in Guanzhong region, the mixture and interlacing drill modes of oat and alfalfa at 3:1 is suitable, and cutting when oat comes into the milk stage can get the best forage yield and quality.
