To obtain spatial distribution patterns and dominant frequency components of different sound sources of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed train, and to acquire proportions of different sound sources in the total radiated noise energy of a pass-by train, a corresponding research on the technology of noise source identification has been developed. The results could provide a basis for developing or improving low-noise train and making effective noise reduction measures.In this paper, by comparing various domestic and foreign available technologies of noise sources identification for high-speed train, and by considering the noise sources spectral characteristics, and by making theoretical and simulating analysis on cross arrays, an optimized irregular spaced cross-shape microphone array has been applied. Based on beamforming principle, the noise sources identification method which is suitable for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway measurement has been established. Through field measurement and data analysis of CRH380AL and CRH380BL type electric multiple unit(EMU) running at the highest speed 380 km/h on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, the main noise source locations and their contribution and the characteristics of spectrum have been obtained. Then by using the results of the noise source identification, noise reduction of sound barrier has been predicted. The predicted results agree well with the measured results, thus verifying the accuracy of noise source identification technology of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway.
