With China's accelerating urbanization, the expansion of city scale and vehicles brings urban traffic a great pressure. Now, Subway is playing a backbone role gradually, because of its high speed, high capacity and many other advantages. But, in recent years, subway accidents occurred frequently with serious consequences. So it becomes an urgent need to address the problem which is how to evaluate subway operation safety level scientifically and reasonably. In this context, research actuality is analyzed and summarized. A study on safety evaluation of subway operation system is undertaken. Firstly, the causes of subway accidents at home and abroad are analyzed. The safety evaluation index system of subway operation is established on the basis of the recognition and analysis of risk factors. Meanwhile, each index weight is calculated by Delphi method and AHP method. Then, this paper introduces extension theory and extension evaluation method into the study of urban subway operation safety evaluation, analyzes basic concepts of matter-element theory, extension set and correlation function, constructs the multi-level extensible evaluation model for subway operation safety with the extension method as the core. Finally, Beijing Changping subway is studied as an example. The risk degrees of the line and its subsystems are determined. Countermeasures are proposed to prevent accidents in subway operation. A new method for comprehensive evaluation of subway operation safety in china is put forward.Theoretical analysis and case study indicate that the new method is applicable to subway operation safety evaluation and it provides reference in further research of subway operation safety evaluation in our country.
