As one of the core technologies of hybrid electric vehicle, the system of ISAD (Integrated Starter Alternator Damper System) has become to the research hotspots. The motor of the system which not can be used as a starter but also as a generator, therefore, to develop a motor of this system should be imperative. Axial sectional claw pole machine with permanent magnet outer rotor (ASCPM) which has high power density and high torque density and reliable performance, and the stator adopts the new type of SMC soft magnetic composite materials, suitable for high speed and high frequency operation and the core loss is small, so the motor is completely suitable for ISAD. The article according to the power and torque density, the cogging torque and flux leakage coefficient and other important parameters, the main work is as follows:Firstly, study of the main flux and leakage flux variation of ASCPM, base on the equivalent model deduced from the reluctance and magneto motive force of ASCPM, and according to the motor design derived from the principle of main performance parameters of the formula; through the MATLAB software simulation program and the simulation results were analyzed, explain the reason that this kind of machine has the high power density and high torque density;Secondly, in order to further verify the correction of the simulation analysis, by using ANSOFT software to ASCPM for 3D modeling, and carries on the 3D finite element analysis of magnetic field. Through the static analysis of ASCPM with no-load condition get the magnetic density distribution and air gap flux density distribution; through the dynamic state analysis of ASCPM get no-load EMF, cogging torque, magnetic flux leakage coefficient, and then using the method of cutting permanent magnet to reduce the cogging torque; at the same time, calculation the main part of the leakage flux, and then get the claw pole permanent magnet motor, the rotor yoke and the claw portion of the magnetic flux leakage coefficient; Thirdly, take the generator and motor experiment, measurement of the cogging torque, no-load EMF, voltage regulation rate and the efficiency of the motor and other important parameters, base on the experimental data and simulation results analysis, validation the study method is correct.
