In view of the function of adjusting self-admittance smoothly, the SVC could provide reactive power support to the system. It is often used to control the central node voltage of electric power system. The traditional SVC controller generally adopt PID or PI control. The SVC controlled by PID can track system operation very well only when the system is in a steady state or under small disturbance, which is companied by few parameters change or can restore balance to the original place in a period of time. However, when power system is under great disturbance, for example the three-phase short-circuit or cutting machine disturbance. It is very possible for the power system to transform from one steady state to another, and then in the balance. It will be difficult for SVC controlled by PID to response to system operation state accurately and the effect of control is also not satisfying. In this paper, the control method of SVC have been researched. This paper provides the steps of multi-generator system transient stability analysis and its program simulation diagram, and gives a transient simulation for typical 3 generator and 9 node power system; According to the parameters' characteristics of the power system under great disturbance, this paper introduces a design of fuzzy PID controller, and the controller is improved based on the variable domain fuzzy PID control strategy. This control strategy has been applied to control node voltage by SVC. Compared to the effect of SVC control under conventional strategy, the results of numerical simulation by matlab show that it can greatly improve the transient voltage stability of power system based on the SVC which is controlled by variable domain of fuzzy PID...
