With the continuous development of power industry,600MW and above capacity stand-alone power generating units gradually become the main unit, large thermal power plants has also been produced, the power to become the backbone of the grid point, large thermal power plants as stand-alone capacity expanding the grid safe and stable operation is particularly important to ensure the unit safe and stable operation of the auxiliary power system design become increasingly important. Large capacity unit short circuit current, auxiliary range of difficulty in starting, low-voltage switch breaking capacity constraints and other issues, including auxiliary power system reliability issues become more prominent.In this paper, the characteristics for large thermal power generating units, as well as existing design specifications, analysis of power plant equipment, the rational allocation of a problem. Main connection to the power plant, power configuration, capacity allocation and other aspects of economic, reliability point of view of its configuration is reasonable.Then on the way high-voltage protection and power plant protection setting for a detailed analysis, mainly from the HV transformer protection, auxiliary power unit fast-cut, high-pressure feeder main protection configuration and three types of value tuning for specific analysis shows.Finally, the practical application of auxiliary power in the two key issues are described. Were quickly cut power plant investment and high-pressure plant with the way the voltage operating range of reasonable, practical guidance for the site.
