The battery is an important part of the DC power supply system of substation.It is mainly responsible for the secondary system to provide a safe, stable, reliable power protection to ensure that the the normal operation of control and protection and the communications equipment of substation. Therefore, the stability of the battery and the actual capacity available to the load during the discharge process has great significance for ensuring the safe operation of electrical equipment.VRLA battery with its maintenance-free and safe and reliable superiority, is widely used in the DC power of substation. In the wake of the reliability requirements of power supply system getting more higher, the reliability requirements of DC power supply and battery of Substation get more higher. But the traditional battery maintenance is not only inefficiency and costly but also results in reduced battery performance. Because of the special structure of VRLA, we can not accurately grasp the state of health of the battery,and once the battery fails, it is possible to make the power supply system suffered huge losses. As a new monitoring technology of battery, Battery online monitoring technology can reduce the maintenance workload, increase the effect of battery maintenance, master the status of the battery performance and extend battery life, and greatly improve the safety and reliability of power supply system.This article studies the online monitoring and management system of the substation battery by detailing analysis of the battery structure, operating characteristics, the failure mechanism of the battery, and several factors affecting the remaining capacity of lead-acid batteries, internal resistance and SOH (State of Health) and SOC (State of Charge) relations and other content and combining with the existing home and abroad on the battery-line monitoring technology and methods. Combined with the information and communication network status of each substation,it collects real-time operating status of each station within the DC system equipment by field intelligent battery pack monitoring system host,and uploads by the TCP/IP technology in real-time.then stores them in the database of the remote PI servers, monitors and analyzes the dispersion of the float voltage of the battery,internal resistance trends and other relevant parameters, and then analyzes the actual running state of the VRLA batteries by software of battery failure mathematical model in the background, Releases on the web through the information network of the system within the information system is running the Web Publishing; The operation and maintenance personnel can log data server of substation DC equipment network monitoring system andmanages browser, controls and modifies the information of DC equipment running status according to different needs and permissions through the IE browser Finally,the article is summarized and put forward the prospects...
