There is a close relationship between climate warming and GHG emission by people's industrialization. When activities of construction consume energy, they also emancipate great quantity of GHG at the same time. In Zhejiang province, one with great economic and energy consumption, there is critical for construction energy-saving and emission-reduction. Residential buildings hold the most proportion of city construction. It is very meaningful to study CO2 emission in every stage by this kind of building by lifecycle evaluation method.This research divided lifecycle of urban residential buildings in Zhejiang province into five stages:the material production stage, the material transportation stage, the construction stage, the occupation stage and the destruction stage. After reading relative documents and collecting factual energy-consuming data, the database and evaluation system of CO2 emission in every stage of urban residential buildings in Zhejiang province is built up. The contents are as the following:1. Based on database of CO2 emission list and energy consumption of construction lifecycle in Zhejiang province built by research group, the CO2 emission factors were updated, the original database of CO2 emission in material production and transportation stages was consummated furthermore, and the CO2 emission evaluation method in the stages of construction application and destruction was rebuilt. A new evaluation system structure for application of CO2 emission in every stage by residential buildings in Zhejiang province was built.2. According to factual data of urban residential buildings in use and reference on local development plan and target quota, the CO2 emission level in every stage of residential buildings operation in Zhejiang province was analyzed in macro-level and a brief common calculation method which can count energy-consuming of every stage with some sense of accuracy was concluded.3. Based on evaluation system of CO2 emission in every stage by residential buildings in Zhejiang province, the software to calculate CO2 emission quantity of every stage in details by implementing language C was designed, which can be used in CO2 emission quantity of whole lifecycle in the previous period of construction.4. With the analysis of differences and similarities of CO2 emission by two different kinds of residential buildings in Zhejiang province, and comparison with calculation results obtained by Taiwan research method, this system has approved its feasibility.5. Based on the research results above, the control policy of construction energy saving was summarized and the corresponding emission reduction resolution for CO2 emission in every stage by residential buildings was proposed in Zhejiang province. Then the CO2 emission level in the future was predicted.This evaluation system not only can be used in calculation of CO2 emission of one residential building lifecycle, but also can play as an evidence of CO2 emission estimation of residential buildings in even bigger scope. The critical and key point of construction energy saving were.investigated.
