With the rapid development of Chinese economy and technical innovation, because the building function is more complex and the structural system is more diverse, more and more complex high-rise buildings appear in the city. In the high-rise building ,to satisfy the architectural function, it is widely used that the small space layout is set in the upper stories and the large space layout is set in the lower stories. But at present the design of this complex high-rise building structure is also a lack of experience, the existing codes are more general and principled, poor maneuverability.The structural analysis and engineering design of an out-of-codes high-rise building in Guangdong are carried out in this paper. The engineering characteristics of the building are the long span structural transferring in the high story, conjoined towers. Based on the investigations of relevant engineering structural design experiences and researches and applications of complex high-rise building in our country and foreign country, two general structural analysis programs are used to analyzed the building structure, and the analysis results are compared. The structural seismic strengthening and other technical measures, structural design suggests are proposed for the building .Some recommendations to be paid attention and treatment to structural design are summarizes to provide the references for the design of this king of building.In this paper the main conclusions are the following:(1)By adjusting the structure arrangement, the ratio Tt / T1,the first natural period of vibration dominated by torsion with the first natural period of vibration dominated by translation is controlled to not more than 0.85, to meet the torsion effect index of complex high-rise structure .(2)The stress analysis under small and moderate earthquake are carried out for the unfavorable circumstance that some floor slabs are seriously discontinuous. The result show that even in the case of the project with irregular structural plane, the conventional concrete floor section and reinforcement can basically satisfy the requirement of seismic design based on performance.(3)The analysis for seismic design based on performance is carried out for the high-rise structure with long span structural transferring in high story, which can provide the references for the similar complex high-rise building structure.(4)A large steel structure curtain wall is analyzed and designed briefly. The design ideas and main control index are explain, which can provide the references for the design of similar connecting structure of large curtain wall and main structure. Similar large curtain wall and main structure of the building structure is connected with the reference design.
