Railway information transmission network provides various business applications for railway transmission channels. With the in-depth development of railway information, the demand for the capacity as well as the security level of railway information network becomes higher and higher. As the industry grows, the transmission speed is getting faster and the capacity is getting larger, which has provided a solid foundation for an upgrade of traffic control system. At the present, with the increased demand for the transmission channels, the network construction and design becomes the most important in railway communication.Shandong Tietong transmission system is mainly composed of DWDM, SDH WDM transmission system, transmission network management system, and various functional modules. This paper first introduces operation principles of the DWDM WDM system, and then analyzes in details the main structure of DWDM system, network scheme, configuration and scalability. It also suggests a design of province south circle line wave transmission system according to the demand of railway communication. The system adopts double fiber unidirectional DWDM transmission on south circle line I to VI, West circle, East circle, North circle and other SDH transmission system, to meet the needs of the SDH transmission system and large business customers. It also further introduces SDH transmission system technology. In order to meet the demands for railway communication transmission channels and other telecommunication service implementation, different Tietong SDH transmission network projects are designed according to different business requirements,Construction of SDH transmission system can fully meet the demand for railway operation, provide a solid foundation for normal operation, and guarantee telecommunication service development. In a transmission network design, advanced technology, system utility, safety, stability, and strong expansibility are usually used as the basic principle of planning. According to the characteristics of railway, SDH transmission network solutions are designed to meet the demand for railway information security protection. At the same time, the system capacity and function expansibility should be fully considered, to provide the convenient for users to expand and upgrade the capacity. Without loss of security and stability of the railway information transmission, the system construction cost can be reduced. The Circuit increase and network expansion can be achieved with the demand of its own business development, which sets a solid foundation for railway information. This design of transmission system has the strong expansibility, which is feasible for the upgrade and expansion in future. It also has flexibility to meet the requirements for the circuits and channels in practice. This paper provides a plan and design of the development for railway network in future to meet the growing demand railway communication.This paper analyzes the demand of railway transmission channel, with the grasp of transmission network, planning and design to meet the development needs of the transmission network system for railway, Let the railway transmission network is more and more perfect, It also provides detailed design and planning for the network, which covers the Tietong SDH transmission platform, network planning, and etc.
