Application And Troubleshooting Of Mechanical Seal In Pump

Mechanical seal is one of the essential parts of fluid machinery and dynamic mechanical. It is important for the safety of whole equipment and the whole equipments, especially in the petrochemical companies. It's of great significance to ensure reliable equipment operation, installation of continuous production. In the Sinopec enterprise, the fluid has the characteristics of corrosive, flammable, explosive and toxic. It should be handled carefully to ensure the human health and quality of products. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid visible liquid leakage and escaping of the invisible gas.In response to these issues, a new mechanical seal technology is introduced in this paper. Basic structure and principle of end face sealing for the leakage of Sinopec production is also analyzed. Based on the study of domestic and foreign technology of mechanical seal, the performance of the pump mechanical seal and the failure mechanism are analyzed. Take the pump of Jinan Sinopec enterprise as an example, the causes of mechanical seal leakage is investigated. An improvement design for the original structure in engineering practice is put forward. It is shown that the new mechanical seal structure improves the mechanical properties greatly.
