Our country is a multinational country which is composed of56ethnic groups, and we have rich and varied national art and culture. National artistic culture of Tujia nationality is important part of the chinese culture, and it is Tujia people's wisdom which is come from the hardworking and continuously explore from generation to generation. Because of Tujia's special geographic location, natural environment, unique habits, the Tujia folk furniture retains its own unique national character. The adornment art of the drop bed is epitome of Tujia nationality traditional art and culture as the most typical representative of Tujia furniture.This paper used Tujia drop bed as the research object. First we gathered a lot of related literature at home and abroad, and understand the development history of tujia nationality, the geographical position, the natural environment, customs, etc. which is prepare for further research to the drop bed of Tujia. Next we done field research on Tujia areas of Hunan,Hube,Sichuan and Guizhou, and investigatedTujia people's way of life, and used photographs, drawings, consultation, statistics to collect first-hand material of drop bed. Next we do scientific and comprehensive research for it's basic structure, decoration design, adornment colour, decoration component and details according to the adornment art theory as the guide.The paper show decoration art charm of drop bed to people, which make outstanding performance in the overall modelling follow facade features of Chinese classical architecture; and it give priority to fascia board, take cover, fences, floating eaves and Windows as adornment components; It give priority to red and black added gold, blue, and green as auxiliary, which are all high purity gorgeous colour; Adornment design is wide range of subjects, rich contents, various forms; It's set is carefully and it's collocation is ingenious from Integral form to local components, which show the beauty of decoration.Through the above research to decorative art of the drop bed of Tujia, we summarized and concluded the unique decoration style and element of drop bed. not only add and perfect the national furniture database, but also find a way for the development of the national furniture and provide reference for the localization of modern furniture design.
