The hydraulic cylinder is one of the most important actuators in hydraulic system, can provide complex motions combined with other mechanical equipment. With the development of technology, the demand of control accuracy in mechanical systems becomes more and more rigorous, therefore, as the important actuator in hydraulic control system, the performance of hydraulic cylinder must be tested. Based on this background, the hydraulic cylinder testing bed has been studied and discussed in this paper.The development of hydraulic technology and hydraulic cylinder testing technology are analyzed, and the concept of SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)is introduced as well. Some problems of the hydraulic cylinder testing bed have been analyzed in detail, such as hydraulic circuit principle, high voltage control system, weak current control system, and how to improve anti-jamming capability with appropriate measures and so on. Using the Electro-hydraulic proportional control technology, with industrial control computer, the oil pressure of hydraulic system is digitally contro lled, and the prospective effect has been achieved successfully. The HCTB system exchange information with PLC (Programmable Logic Contro ller)thro ugh host computer, and constitute the virtual PLC system. The analogous quantity for system is gathered through field-bus of PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnection), and each analogous quantities are filtering treated separately, in order to eliminate the influence(which is generated by disturbance)to the control system in advance. The design and development of testing-control system are achievement, and the testing result is printed out through statement Based on the GB-state standard on hydraulic cylinder testing, the procedures of testing are designed separately.Facing on the critical problem within hydraulic cylinder testing such as start pre ssure, leakage testing, loading efficiency testing and so on, a high-precision and automation testing system is developed, based on the consideration of variety testing methods and actual condition. The accuracy of testing for start pressure can be up to 0.01MPa, and the process of testing can be finish automatically. And the accuracy of testing for leakage can be up to 0.01 ml/min, with high-precision specific-gravity instrument in real-time. Focus on the testing of loading efficiency, several automation methods are designed through threading technology.
