As a new type of high polymer-based material,P VDF has the excellent characteristics of piezoelectricity and physical properties,which enjoys a wide prospect of application in the field of sensors. Relational research and applications on the PVDF were carried out as followings.1. Studying the dynamic characteristics of PVDF while it works under the mode of thickness via transient liquid pressure generated by a pulse pressure producer.Executing PVDF pressure gage and its output linearity was obtained by standard piezoresistive transducer,measuring the sensitivity of PVDF pressure sensor and figuring out the uncertainty of sensitivity. It was confirmed that PVDF piezoelectric film has the ability to test the dynamic pressure by comparing the relevent parameters in time-domain and frequency-domain.2. Constructing the strain measurement system and studying characteristics of PVDF based on the experimental platform put up by uniform strength beam. The output of PVDF and resistance strain gauge was obtained. It was also confirmed that PVDF has the ability to measure the strain of structure by way of comparing theoretic strain and the actual strain of PVDF.3. Making three types of compound structures with aluminum-foam material in the middle layer based on absorbing shock and impact energy characteristics of the the porous material. Measuring the recession of loading in composite structure layer with PVDF piezoelectric sensors under the experimental conditions of shock loading. Then,through the comparison between the experimental results and the numerical simulation results,PVDF has abilities to measure the attenuation was demonstrated.4.The PVDF pressure gage was applied to test the pressure field coupled with temperature. The thermal protection of PVDF sensor was proposed.The effectiveness of thermal isolation of film was analyzed based on the theory of temperature transmit. Two tests were designed to analyze the thermal protection of thin film and the effect to output of PVDF transducer respectively.
