Impact is a kind of common phenomena that widely exist in engineering applications. The impact course is a complicated dynamic response process with particular dynamic characteristics, therefore the analysis and research of impact phenomena becomes very important in both theoretical research and engineering application.In order to analyze and test the impact force of shock testing machine, two methods have been provided in this article. One is numerical simulation using nonlinear finite element software, the other is a virtual instrument testing system developed on LabVIEW. In detail, this paper focuses mainly on the following fields:Firstly, the basic theory of impact dynamics is summarized and the general analysis method of impact dynamics problems is proposed. Then the finite element method is imported to establish a solution to the problems of impact force analysis. The solution founds a theory basis for later numerical simulation.Secondly, the development and applications of PVDF piezoelectric film are introduced. Researches indicate that PVDF piezoelectric film responds quickly on impact forces, and its output charge is a direct proportion of impact force, so the PVDF piezoelectric film can be used in dynamic pressure measurement. Meanwhile virtual instrument and its characteristics are summarized, its commonly used workbench LabVIEW is also concretely introduced.Thirdly, a finite element model of impact testing machine is established to analyze its impact dynamics characteristics.
